HND-SFO United Business class

With United, from Orlando to Tokyo.

The trip is from Chicago, and the return trip is via San Francisco.

Both ways, use your miles to upgrade to business class.

Itinerary: Orlando → Chicago → Haneda

Return trip: Haneda → San Francisco → Orlando

The following is a memory book.

• United Upgrade Tips

The Polaris Lounge in Chicago is currently undergoing renovations and is not available for use, so I think it would be easy to upgrade to business class.

However, the United Lounge in Chicago is crowded, so depending on the time of day, it can be difficult to find a seat to sit down…

By the way, people who have business class flight tickets will also receive a chocolate gift.

• United Business Class TIP

There is water in a PET bottle in the security box on the side table of the seat.

Blankets and knee warmers are provided, so a jacket is not necessary.

- The good/interesting things about United

The United mobile app is very easy to use and allows you to quickly check the latest information you need.

Ordering in-flight meals in advance is too convenient.

Egg dishes like omelets are too dry and not tasty.

I think Japanese food is pretty delicious.

• Connecting flights in San Francisco (international to domestic flights)

1. Passport checkpoint

→ I have Global Entry, so I just go to the dedicated lane, get my facial recognition, and that's it.

2. Claim bag

→ Since it’s business class, the luggage should be arriving sooner, but I waited for more than 30 minutes.

3. Customs checkpoint

→ I was surprised that we didn't get a "Customs Declaration" form on board, but in the end, we just ended up having a verbal conversation about the following:

Q Where were you? A Japan

Q: How long did you stay there? A: 10 days

Q Are there any items that can be brought into the United States? A None

4. Re-check the bag

→ Just hand over the luggage to the attendant; that's all.

5. Security checkpoint

Follow the signs for Terminal 3, Concourse E, checkpoint F3 after immigration and customs. 5 minutes to the security checkpoint

→ As written, you need to walk for about 5 minutes. If you are going to another terminal,AirTrain To the line for boarding.

There are also dedicated lanes for TSA Pre and CLEAR at the back, but at 9 AM already, all of them are in quite long lines. The staff just asked me to show my ID (such as passport or drivers license). After that, they scanned my luggage. It took about 30 minutes.

6. Departure gate

If your layover is long, you can either sit in a seat near the power outlet around the boarding gate to pass the time, go to a fast food restaurant, or pay a little money to get into the United lounge.
